THE PRODUCTION OF ETHANOL IN MADAGASCAR
Supply of ethanol is still the major challenge for further expansion of the program. This challenge seems to be associated with unclear regulatory requirements from the Malagasy government. Clean Cooking Madagascar is of the opinion that many potential project implementation partners are reluctant to move forward to make investments in the program, of fear that the government would impose taxes or other restriction on the program.
Clean Cooking Madagascar does however encourage partners to move forward and would like to again repeat that the program is open to all entities that comply with the program regulations on equal terms.
Around four, five potential micro distilleries is believed to be able to move forward as soon as the government regulations and requirements are clear, subject to such regulatory regulations is enabling project activities to be implemented profitably.
